What is the density of concrete or unit weight of concrete ?

Density of Concrete are listed below
In case of reinforced concrete

  • Pre-stressed cement concrete = 2400 Kg/m3 (Kg per cubic metre)
  • Reinforced Cement Concrete with 1% steel = 2310 to 2470 Kg/m3
  • Reinforced Cement Concrete with 2% steel = 2370 to 2530 Kg/m3
  • Reinforced Cement Concrete with 5% steel = 2530 to 2700 Kg/m3

In case of Plain concrete

  • aerated plain concrete                     = 760 Kg/m3
  • No-fines, with heavy aggregate       = 1600 to 1920 Kg/m3
  • No-fines, with light aggregate          =  880 to 1280 Kg/m3
  • With burnt clay aggregate                = 1760 to 2160 Kg/m3
  • With expanded clay aggregate        =  960 to 1680  Kg/m3
  • With clinker aggregate                     = 1280 to 1760 Kg/m3
  • With pumice aggregate                    = 560 to 1120   Kg/m3
  • With sand and gravel or crushed natural stone aggregate = 2240 to 2400 Kg/m3
  • With saw dust                                  = 640 to 1680  Kg/m3
  • With foamed slag aggregate           = 960 to 1840  Kg/m3
