The building concept which are environmental friendly is known as green building.

Which means a building having several benefits, which does not have any harmful effect on environment and human beings.

The whole process is considered from starting with planning, designing, construction, utilization, maintenance, renovation and demolition. Which means the whole life span of any building should not affect the environment in any condition.

It is also known as Green Construction and Sustainable Buildings CONCEPT.

GRIHA RATING SYSTEM:

The Green building in India is rated by GRIHA rating. i.e. Green Ratings for Integrated Habitat and Assessment launched in 2007.

 

LEED Rating system:

LEED Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world

In this rating buildings is analysed on the many key feature which does not harm on environment. Like control on waste production, energy consumption, renewable energy production, ecological impact etc

How to construct Green Buildings

Prevent top layer original soil at the time of excavation and use it for landscaping after completion of construction.

Use surrounding and nearby building materials because these materials are familiar and withstand with the weathering condition of site.

Use thermal favourable material for roof like terra-cotta. Which provides proper insulation and reduces the electricity used for cooling and warming.

Use proper ventilation and design according to sun diagram that proper lighting will goes into house or buildings.
