What is tender in construction ?

Tender is the process whereby governments and financial institutions invite bids for large projects that must be submitted within a finite deadline.

What is Bidding in Construction ?

Construction bidding is the process of submitting a proposal (tender) to undertake, or manage the undertaking of a construction project.

Bill of quantities (BOQ)

It is Estimate of project or G schedule.

A bill of quantities (BOQ) is a document used in tendering in the construction industry / supplies in which materials, parts, and labor (and their costs) are itemized.

The BOQ rate is selected from BSR.

BSR (Basic Scheduled Rate)

BSR is the common and fixed rate of any item which is done in a project.

The basic schedule rate is depend on the department ( ex. PWD) and that particular area of construction.

Blueprint :

A blueprint is a reproduction (simply Blue paper printed) of a technical drawing, documenting an architecture or an engineering design.

E-procurement:

E-procurement (electronic procurement, sometimes also known as supplier exchange) is the business-to-business or business-to-consumer or business-to-government purchase and sale of supplies, work, and services through the Internet. Tender is done by e-procurement process.

Contractor:

The firm which is appointed to do the construction project work, is known as contractor.
